October 4-6 Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin will host the 5th International Conference on Corporate Social Responsibility – The Future of CSR. The conference website describes the conference as “Rather than looking at what is the potentiality of CSR the goal of the conference is to examine the science behind CSR and behavior and the actual managerial practices that work. About 100 international representatives from science, business, politics and governmental as well as non-governmental organizations will discuss these issues.”
The conference will be located at Audimax of Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin (Unter den Linden 6) with all parallel panels held at Paul-Löbe-Haus (Konrad-Adenauer-Str. 1). Speakers at this year’s conference include Robert G. Eccles (Harvard Business School), R. Edward Freeman (Professor, The Darden School, University of Virginia), Dima Jamali (Professor, School of Business , American university of Beirut), Bjorn Stigson (Former President of the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD), Sandra Waddock (Professor of Management and Carroll School Scholar of Corporate Responsibility, Boston College), and Simon Zadek (Founder of AccountAbility, UK). In addition to the conference October 4-6, there is a Doctoral Workshop that will be held on October 3. “This year’s workshop will particularly address interdisciplinary research in the fields of sustainability and CSR in a globalized context. We are inviting PhD candidates from social sciences, law, business sciences and economics as well as from natural sciences and engineering to engage in a dialogue on solutions for global challenges of sustainability and CSR.” Admission requires participants to submit an extract that will be reviewed by a scientific committee.
